About this site. This is an official authorized booking-partner website for the Palace on Wheels, operated by Palace Tours. The Palace on Wheels train is owned and operated by Indian Railways and the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation; Palace Tours acts as a booking representative and makes no claim of ownership of the train or its trademarks.

Bookings & payments. Fares, dates and availability are confirmed at the time of booking. 25% of the total tour cost is due at the time of booking, with the balance of 75% payable no later than 65 days prior to the departure date. A charge of 1.5% of the ticket price applies if the balance payment is not received within 65 days of departure.

Taxes (GST). All fares shown are exclusive of GST. GST is currently 5% of total tour value and is calculated and payable together with your balance payment, not at the time of booking. Taxes are levied by the Government of India and are subject to change. The rate applicable to your journey will be confirmed to you before departure.

Fare basis. The Deluxe Cabin is priced per person, with separate single and double occupancy rates. The Super Deluxe Cabin, Suite Cabin and Presidential Suite are sold per cabin and are charged the same whether occupied by one or two guests. Departures whose seven nights cover 25 December or 1 January carry a 10% festive supplement.

Inclusions. What is included in and excluded from each fare is listed on the Fares page. Itineraries and excursions may be adjusted by the operator for operational, weather or safety reasons.

Cancellations. Cancellation fees are levied on the gross value of the train ticket: a minimum of 20% where cancelled 90 days or more before departure; a minimum of 25% where cancelled between 75 and 89 days before departure; and 100% where cancelled 74 days or fewer before departure.

No-shows and early departure. In the event of a no-show or non-arrival, no refund or adjustment for future travel applies and the full amount is forfeited. Where a guest terminates the journey en route for any reason, no refund or adjustment applies to the unused portion of the tour.

Amendments. All amendments are subject to approval by the operator and are generally only possible in circumstances such as natural disaster or serious illness supported by a medical certificate. Where a departure date is postponed for the same passengers, a minimum charge of US$100 per person applies, subject to availability and approval.

Operator cancellation. Should a scheduled departure be cancelled by the train operator, guests will be informed and the full amount received will be refunded without any cancellation fee. No interest or compensation is payable for consequential costs such as air tickets or hotel bookings.

Liability. Palace Tours acts as an agent for the train operator and associated service providers and is not liable for changes, delays or events beyond its reasonable control. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
